In conjunction with Sacred Heart Parish Harvest Fest, the Horicon Marsh Classic Car Club will hold it’s 10th Annual Car Show…still only $5.00 at the gate.

The Horicon Area Foundation is

….. an independent, non-profit, philanthropic trust for the benefit of the community

…..a depository for gifts and funds given by donors, individuals or corporations, to meet community needs

In 1986 the Horicon Community Development Corporation organized and chartered the Foundation through which public spirited citizens could make lasting gifts for the long term needs of the community.

The wise distribution of money for community philanthropy is the only goal of the Foundation, which assures donors that gifts received and distributions made from the Foundation are based on the following principles:

Meeting the greatest local needs in the most constructive way
Guaranteeing flexibility by adapting to changing conditions if an original gift purpose becomes obsolete.
Permanent administration of funds under the direction of community leaders serving as trustees.
Obtaining maximum tax advantages for the donor, the donor’s heirs and estate.
Perpetuating a Memorial
Simplified gift-making….A donor simply passes his gift of cash, stocks, bonds, real estate to the Foundation with a letter stating the nature of contribution.

Flyway Gift Shop

The Friends of Horicon Marsh International Education Center operates a unique gift shop located in the upper lobby area of the Horicon Marsh International Education Center/DNR Service Center. The gift shop offers visitors a wide variety of educational and souvenir items for all ages and is a primary source of revenue for the Friends group. Items are nature related and a mix of homemade soaps, candles, cards, jewelry, walking sticks, binoculars, art work, tote and book bags, caps, sweatshirts and t-shirts. Kites, paintable birdhouses and birdfeeders, arrowheads, Folkmanis Puppets, t-shirts and many other items available for the young shopper.

To make your shopping easy for any occasion, be sure to visit the Friend’s gift shop and find that special and different item.

City Wide Rummage Sale

Come be a part of this ‘Shopping Tradition.’ Once again the entire city of Horicon will be welcoming anyone who loves a bargain to our rummage sale. From the large Catholic Church on the West side of Horicon, to the homes on the East side of Horicon you will be able to find a deal.

Closer to the date we will put maps in the Dodge County Pionier and on this web site for you to navigate your way around town to save time yet haul home the most!

Chili/Chicken Soup Supper at the American Legion

2012 Knitting Retreat

After a long cold winter is will be time again to gather for our annual Knit Retreat. This year’s plan is to gather on Saturday, March 24 at the library for a day of knitting, learning, and camaraderie. There will be classes, potluck lunch and just plain knitting time.

Tour de Marsh

Get your friends and family together and ride the Tour De Marsh!

The idea behind “Tour De Marsh” is to provide the visitor a “bird’s eye view” of Horicon Marsh. New routes along Dike Rd. and Old Rt. 49 open two major nature areas allowing the visitor into the heart of refuge areas which allows wonderful views of nature. Bill Ehlenbeck, Manager of Dodge County Parks notes that one of the highlights of this bike route is the ability to cross right through the belly of the marsh on Dike Road. Not only does it give a unique view of the marsh, but it now provides the casual bike rider or family the ability to more easily accomplish a smaller loop ride rather than having to circle the entire marsh.”
