Eberle's Produce is family owned and operated. It all started during the 1970's. Our children were in a 4-H gardening project. The goal was to grow the biggest pumpkin for the Dodge County Fair. Success!
There were extra pumpkins - what should we do with them? Let's sell them! Another success!
In the following years squash was added, then potatoes. Let's try fall decorations; Indian corn and gourds. Little by little, a small business grew, which is now known as Eberle's Produce.
Crafts and cedar outdoor furniture have also been a part of the business. Many enjoy the experience of browsing in our craft room. Many relax and enjoy the country atmosphere while sitting on cedar chairs, picnic tables, or swings.
We look to the future for new ideas, new products, and new friends.

One of the best things about a small town is the locally owned restaurants. Mother’s Day Restaurant is a place to come and enjoy a great meal while visiting with your friends or dining alone. This family restaurant is open seven days a week from 5 am to 8 pm. Great home cooking is served by engaging waitresses and you will not want to miss the everyday specials. Carry outs are available by calling 485-4493. Located downtown at 417 E. Lake Street (across from the Post Office) Mother’s Day is a popular place to have your breakfast clubs, lunch meetings or family dinners. Looking for something to do Friday nights? Come and try their Fish Fry!

The original idea of naming a restaurant Mother’s Day, to honor our mothers every day, was already in place when Sam Fejzuli purchased the restaurant. It’s great to see a business in town update and make the outside pleasing to all of us who pass by. If you are one who has passed by this restaurant and not visited….time to change and stop in for a savory home cooked meal.

Dodge County Lifespan Respite Network rpovides families and caregivers with relief from the ongoing demands of providing care for their loved one with special needs. This break allows them the opportunity to rejuvenate themselves and provide the quality of care all of our loved ones deserve. Respite care is a critical way communities can provide care for those caring for others, and to assist them in keeping the family unit intact. The value of respite cannot be overstated. It reduces stress in families, prevents costly out-of-home placements, and prevents child/elder abuse and neglect. Respite care also serves to enhance the families coping abilities, increases caregiver physical and mental well being, and provides the caregiver with an opportunity for social activities and community involvement.
The Dodge County Lifespan Respite Network is designed to work in collaboration with exisiting respite providers, to provide the community with a central point to access respite services, and to provide training to respite care providers and the community. In addition, our project has access to funding for respite stipends.

Johnson School Bus Service is one of the largest family owned and operated school bus companies in the State of Wisconsin and the United States. Serving Beaver Dam, Oak Field, Waupun, Fox Lake besides Horicon, they take great pride in transporting children to a higher education.

September of 2010 begins a new change for the bus service and families and staff of the Horicon School District. High School and Middle School will begin at 8 am and the elementary school at 8:05 thus resulting in one bus route instead of two. Johnson is confident of a smooth transition as one additional bus and driver are being used and pick up schedules have been mailed to the parents home.

Safety is a big issue for the 15 drivers and staff members of the Johnson Horicon division. Each bus is equipped with a 'Check Mate System" that is wired into the bus doors guaranteeing that no child will be left behind. When the driver shuts off their bus after any route, they have 30 seconds to disarm the system by walking through the bus to the back checking each seat. If they fail to do this, horns blow and headlights flash. This is a system devised by bus drivers so that kids will not be left in the bus.

Johnson Bus Service also implements a bus safety program in October for students kindergarten through 5th grade. Students are taught the right and wrong way to ride a bus, how not to get hurt, what to do in an emergency, how to listen to the bus driver and what not to do on a bus.

Not limited to school functions, Johnson Bus Services many community events ~ Rock 'N River Jam, Walk with the Legion, pub crawl, picnics, parades and weddings.

This family operated bus service wants everyone to be aware that school is starting very soon and to please be cautious of new children on their way to school every weekday.
