The parkway route follows state and county highways as it passes through or near the communities of Horicon, Mayville, Waupun, Burnett and the village of Kekoskee.
There are a number of excellent hiking trails in Horicon that offer great views of the marsh and a chance to see birds and animals on the Horicon Marsh. Trails are open seven days a week, from dawn till dusk, year-round, except certain areas during nesting and hunting seasons.
The Tour de Marsh is a year around tour that takes bicyclists, walkers and autos around and through the Horicon Marsh. For a fee, a number of nearby farms will rent goose blinds to hungers or lease land to hunters.
The Horicon Marsh also offers fishing for northern pike, panfish and other species in the river channel. The Rock River below the Horicon Marsh offers excellent fishing throughout the year for walleye, northern pike, white bass, panfish and catfish. Lake Sinissippi, located south of town, offers 2,800 acres of fishing.
